This depends on the time of the year you will be doing your visa application as well as to which consulate in South Africa and your travel & criminal history will indicate if you need to attend an interview or get an interview waiver. No, you would need to have a signed agreement between you and the Employer as well as a valid work permit to apply for a petition based visa.

Yes, As long as the employer agrees to the arrangement you can apply for an H4 visa for your wife and children under the age of 21. 

Your H4 visa will be linked to your Spouses H2A or H2B approval dates.

No you are not elligable to work while on a H4 visa.

You will not need a Police clearance for your visa application unless you have a criminal record or if requested by the US Consulate.

There are 3 US Consulates in South Africa. Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban.

Yes, The US Consulate will not accept photos that were used previously or older than 6 months from the current date.

  2. DHL Courier fees = R309.00
  3. Airfare = Roughly R25 – 30 000.00
  4. Enough money until your first paycheck = $300 USD
  5. Medical Travel Insurance = R12 995.00
  6. Total R53 022 – Recommended – R55 000.00
